Privacy policy

Top Cross Country Movers is a free moving-planning site run with 8 Top Movers. It is not a moving company. When you ask for estimates, your request goes to the 8 Top Movers moving team, which gets rates from the licensed movers in its network and brings back written estimates. You choose which mover to use, or none.

When you ask for estimates, the form asks for:

• your first and last name, email address and phone number
• the origin and destination ZIP codes of your move
• the type of move, your target move date and, if you choose, your home size

Some calculators offer a shorter form with the same contact fields, where ZIP codes are optional. If you use the move planner, we store the details you enter and the plan we make so you can come back to it at its own link. We do not ask for a street address.

• Your IP address and browser user-agent, kept with your request as part of the consent record and used to limit abuse.
• How you arrived: the referring page, the page you landed on, and campaign parameters on the link (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content, gclid, fbclid).
• Which of our sites and which page your request came from.
• Standard request logs kept by our hosting provider.

• To pass your request to the 8 Top Movers moving team, so it can get written estimates for your move and contact you about it.
• To show a modelled cost range for your route.
• To check that the email address and phone number you entered look valid, using the validation services listed below.
• To detect and block automated abuse, with a bot check and rate limits.
• To count, in aggregate, which pages and campaigns lead to requests.

Your request goes to 8 Top Movers. Global Elegance Moving and Logistics shares ownership with 8 Top Movers, and the moving team works requests in Global Elegance’s customer-management software, so your full request, including your name, phone and email, is held there as well as by us.

With the other licensed movers in the network, the moving team shares your move details, such as ZIP codes, home size and move date, so they can price your move. Those movers are independent businesses with their own privacy policies.

Service providers that process data for us, and what each does:

• Supabase: database
• our hosting provider: serving the site and its request logs
• Twilio Lookup and NeverBounce: checking that a phone number and email address look valid
• Cloudflare Turnstile: the bot check on our forms
• Resend: sending transactional email
• Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, when configured: site analytics

We do not sell your contact details to data brokers.

To stop text messages, reply STOP to any message. To stop calls, ask the caller to add you to their do-not-call list, and email hello@8topmovers.com so we can suppress your record on our side too.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or opt out of its sale or sharing. To do any of these, email hello@8topmovers.com from the address you used, or include the phone number you gave, so we can find your record. We will not treat you differently for asking.

We keep requests and their consent records for as long as we need them to run the service and to show that consent was given, then delete or de-identify them.

This site does not set cookies of its own. When Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics is configured for one of our sites, it loads and can set its own analytics cookies. The bot check on our forms is Cloudflare Turnstile, which may store data in your browser to tell people from bots. The campaign parameters in the link that brought you here are sent with your request so we can tell which page or campaign it came from.

This site is for adults planning a household move. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
