Privacy Policy

When you submit a quote request or use the move planner, we collect:

• Your name, email address, and phone number.
• Move details: origin and destination, approximate move date, home size, and any special items you tell us about.
• A record of the consent you gave, including the exact wording shown to you, its version, and the time it was given.

If you use the AI assistant or planner, we also store the questions you ask and the plan we generate so the tool can keep context.

• Your IP address and browser user-agent string, recorded with your submission as part of the consent record and used to rate-limit abuse.
• How you arrived: the referring URL, the page you landed on, and campaign parameters in the link (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content, gclid, fbclid).
• Standard request logs kept by our hosting provider.

• To match you with moving companies and produce a cost estimate for your route.
• To let those companies and our moving concierge contact you about your move.
• To verify that the email address and phone number you entered are real and reachable, using third-party validation services.
• To detect and block automated abuse, using a bot-detection challenge and rate limiting.
• To measure which pages and campaigns produce quote requests, in aggregate.

Quote requests submitted on this site are routed to 8 Top Movers and to participating moving companies in that network, who may pay to receive them. Those companies are independent businesses and their own privacy policies govern what they do with your information once they receive it.

We also use service providers who process data on our behalf: our hosting and database providers, the email and phone validation services described above, our bot-detection provider, and our transactional email provider. We do not sell your information to data brokers or use it for advertising unrelated to your move.

Under some state privacy laws, sharing your details with moving companies who pay for them is treated as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. You can opt out at any time using the contact address below.

Checking the consent box before you submit gives moving companies and their partners permission to contact you at the number you provided — including by autodialer, prerecorded or artificial voice, and SMS — even if that number is on a Do-Not-Call list. Consent is not a condition of any purchase, and message and data rates may apply.

To stop text messages, reply STOP to any message. To stop calls, tell the caller to place you on their internal do-not-call list, and email us at hello@8topmovers.com so we can suppress your record on our side. Because your details go to independent companies, withdrawing consent with us does not automatically withdraw it with a company that already received your request.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or opt out of its sale or sharing. To exercise any of these, email hello@8topmovers.com from the address you submitted, or include the phone number you used, so we can locate your record. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

We keep quote requests and their consent records for as long as needed to operate the service and to demonstrate that consent was properly obtained, then delete or de-identify them.

We use cookies and similar storage to keep the site working, to remember an in-progress quote or move plan, and to attribute a quote request to the page and campaign that produced it. We do not run third-party advertising trackers on this site. Blocking cookies in your browser may break the quote form and the move planner.

This site is intended for adults arranging a household move. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.
